This Max Ski March trip sees us return after a few years to Sauze D’Oulx, and we have been lucky enough to secure some rooms in the highly rated and wonderfully located Hotel Stella Alpina. There has been significant investment in the resort since the 2006 Olympics were held in the area, with both the hotels and lifts being restored and upgraded over the past few years. Sauze has though has managed to retain a great mountain village feel with access to one of the best ski areas to be found in the Alps.

The 3 star Hotel Stella Alpina is just a stones throw from the Clotes lift to whisk you away in the morning, and there can’t be a better located hotel in town for both the skiing, and also to soak in the lively après ski and nightlife that Sauze has to offer. The rooms are all en suite, and breakfast and dinner are taken in the Hotels own restaurant. The Stella Alpina bar is also a popular spot for the both locals and holiday makers to return to after a hard day on the piste.

There is great skiing for all abilities in the vast linked Milky Way ski area which covers the resorts of Sauze D’Oulx, Sestriere, Borgata, Sansicario, Cesana and Claviere in Italy, and also, and certainly not to be missed, the French resort of Montgenevre. Free Max Ski guiding will be available, and some high mileage skiing is certainly guaranteed throughout this week.

The price based on 2 people sharing is £575 for adults and £465 for children, and includes flights from many regional airports including Manchester, all Italian transfers, and half board en suite accommodation in the Hotel Stella Alpina. The return is on Saturday 17th March 2012.

Sauze D’Oulx season normally lasts into the first week in April, and the snow depths for this week in 2011 were 85 cms on the lower village slopes, and 165 cms at the top of the mountain.
